Coursera – Free Ivy League Education for All!

Coursera – Free Ivy League Education for All!

Coursera, a California-based startup, offers free courses from top universities (Stanford, Princeton, Duke etc) – they take material that was previously available to handful of people and make it available for free to everyone with an Internet connection. Awesome! Here’s what the founders say:

We hope to give everyone access to the world-class education that has so far been available only to a select few. We want to empower people with education that will improve their lives, the lives of their families, and the communities they live in.

Kim Dotcom Exclusive Interview ‘I will fight this and win’

Kim Dotcom Exclusive Interview ‘I will fight this and win’

Good interview with Kim Dotcom – If we tolerate this persecution, who/what will be next?

Remember trying to send a video or pictures through email and not being able to because it was over the 25mb limit? Kim created a company that allowed you to upload a file, send someone a link, and then they could download the file. You had to agree to not send any copyrighted material of course, because that is illegal without permission.

Megaupload is no different to rapidshare, yousendit, sharefile, to name just a few. Yet this mans family home was stormed at gunpoint by US agents, in New Zealand, his company shutdown, and he’s been thrown in jail. Why? Everything he has done was done legal and protected by american laws – he even gave direct access to every major content producer in Hollywood to remove any file with copyrighted material (something he was not required to do).

So what law did he break? Who cares whether you like him or not, whether he made million, whether he lived an extravagant lifestyle. What law did he break??
